I’m starting a new blog about walking, writing and life. I’m always in training, but today I walked about 9.5 km/6 miles wearing my new lightweight backpack. I carried only about 10 lbs. but I have more to add. I’m working on trying to carry only 12 or 13 lbs. but that’s a challenge. I am flying to Madrid, Spain for a few weeks in September, and am in the process of planning my days and a Camino. Time for walking and writing. Stay posted.
Tunnel on the El Dorado Bike and Walking Trail. Miles of trails in Placerville.
My daughter is a frequent hiking partner. I hand her my phone camera frequently to document our training. Here I am under the Folsom bridge. Miles of trails and beautiful views. So peaceful off the busy bike path. We walked on the trail along Lake Natomas in Folsom on Sunday. Most of our walking was on hard paved bike trail. Too hard for me. I like softer dirt and grass. Makes me wonder how my body will like the Camino Portuguese, which is known for lots of hard walking surface. Another mystery.
Poetry on the trail. Nature and poetry, both healing and fill my hunger for spiritual , beautiful and peaceful environments.
